West African Drumming and Dance with Iya Sako & Jokeh Sillah!

Jokeh Sillah and Iya Sako

Get ready for an electrifying day of West African drumming and traditional African dance as we bring you an unforgettable cultural experience! This is a must-attend event for anyone passionate about djembe drumming, African rhythms, and high-energy dance workshops.

Join us at The Klondyke in Levenshulme on March 29, 2025, for two exhilarating workshops:

  • Djembe Drumming Workshop with Master Drummer Iya Sako (10 AM – 1 PM)
  • High-Energy African Dance Workshop with Gambian Dancer Jokeh Sillah (2 PM – 4 PM)

These workshops are designed for intermediate-level drummers and dancers, but all levels are welcome! Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the fundamentals of West African percussion or an experienced performer wanting to refine your skills, this event will leave you inspired.

Throughout the workshops, professional drummers from Tanante will be supporting the sessions by playing the dun-duns, the powerful bass drums that drive the rhythm of Guinean djembe music and elevate the energy of the dance. This is your chance to learn traditional West African rhythms and movements from world-class instructors!
